Photocatalysis — how EMT creates clean air
Photocatalysis
A reaction induced by the irradiation of light in the presence of a substance called a catalyst. EMT’s technology uses a UV light source set in the core of a honeycomb mesh treated with a rare earth element catalyst.
Step 1
Air & moisture enter
Ambient air and natural humidity from the room are drawn into the unit through the honeycomb cell.
Step 2
UV + catalyst react
UV light activates the rare earth catalyst, splitting water molecules and generating Energized Hydrogen Peroxide (EHP).
Step 3
H₂O₂ disperses
EHP molecules circulate through the entire space 24/7, oxidizing pathogens in the air and on every surface they settle on.

- Hydrogen Peroxide (H₂O₂) is a naturally occurring compound found throughout the environment, produced by atmospheric reactions, biological activity, and environmental processes.
- Typical atmospheric concentrations range from 0.0001 to 0.001 ppm — EMT operates at this same safe, natural level.
- Household and commercial cleaning products use H₂O₂ at 3%–32% concentration. Those are caustic levels. EMT technology operates far below any threshold of concern.
- Our technology is human, animal, plant, and machine safe. H₂O₂ is valued for its effectiveness against pathogens and its relatively low environmental impact compared to conventional disinfectants.
